Privacy Policy
Updated October 21, 2026
Reframe It does not require an account or sign-in. This policy explains the information used to manage Apple purchases, understand app usage, and provide support.
Your videos and projects
Our usage analytics does not upload your videos, filenames, project content, or touch coordinates. It does not collect your name or email address. Information you choose to send when contacting support is handled separately.
Apple purchases and subscriptions
Apple handles purchases and payment details. We receive and verify purchase information from Apple, including transaction identifiers, the purchased product, purchase and expiry dates, renewal status, trials, refunds, and family-sharing status. We use this information to understand subscription activity and access status, reconcile purchase records, and provide support. We do not receive your payment-card details through this process.
When usage sharing is enabled, the app can send Apple-signed evidence of a current purchase. Our server verifies it and associates the purchase with the random installation identifier. This helps us understand how subscription groups use the app and how engagement relates to renewals. Family-shared purchases are excluded from this association. It does not reveal your name, email address or Apple account, and an installation or subscription is not a unique person.
Optional usage sharing
Usage sharing is enabled by default for new installations on supported devices. You can turn it off at any time in the app’s Settings. No account or sign-in is required.
We collect limited events to understand which features are useful and improve reliability:
- App opens and successful project creation.
- Completed and failed exports. Failures use predefined categories, not raw error messages.
- Paywall views and actual use of manual reframing.
Events include their time, app version, platform, a session identifier, and a random installation identifier. An installation is not a person or an Apple account: reinstalling the app or using another device can create another installation. A session starts when the app enters the foreground.
Apple App Attest helps verify the app installation before our service accepts uploads. We retain the installation's verification key information and use temporary upload credentials that renew automatically. You do not need to enter a credential or create an account. Unsupported devices can continue using the app without sending these analytics.
Your choices and retention
You can turn sharing off in Settings under Usage sharing. Turning it off stops future usage collection and purchase-link uploads and clears queued events. It cannot retract an upload already sent or automatically erase records already received.
When you turn sharing off, the app may send one final preference notice using an existing upload credential, so we can count reported opt-outs. This includes the time, app version, platform and installation identifier used for authentication, but no session identifier or app activity. The notice is not saved for later or retried, and the app does not establish or renew a connection just to send it. Offline choices and choices made without a valid credential may not be counted. Received notices follow the same retention period as usage events.
Offline events wait on your device for up to seven days, with a maximum queue of 1,000 events. Received usage events are excluded from reports after 90 days and scheduled for automatic deletion; database cleanup may take additional time. Backup copies may retain deleted records for up to 35 additional days.
Purchase-to-installation associations and their signed evidence are scheduled for deletion 90 days after the last verified refresh; database cleanup and backups may retain them longer as described above. The app refreshes these associations only while sharing is enabled.
Installation security registration records are retained separately for upload verification and are removed administratively rather than on the event-deletion schedule. Purchase records are kept separately for subscription history, reconciliation, and support. Contact us with questions or requests about access to or deletion of information associated with your installation or purchases; we may need information to locate the records and verify the request.
Service providers and security
We use Apple for purchases and app verification, and Amazon Web Services in Oregon, United States, for our analytics backend. Access to the analytics dashboard requires authentication. Network services necessarily process connection information to deliver requests. Usage payloads, upload credentials, and raw app error messages are not written to our analytics application logs.
We do not use usage information for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell usage information.
Support and policy changes
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include so we can respond. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or upload credentials.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date above identifies this version.
